Therapeutic Effects of 2(a-thenoylthio)-propionylglycine Na (thenothiola Na, Ronpect^(®)) in Chronic Paranasal Sinusitis

Abstract

|
To investigate the therapeutic effects of 2(a-thenoylthio)-propionylglycine Na(TFPG), 20 patients were treated without TTPG(Group 1) and another 20 patients were treated with TFPG(Group 2).
Comparing to the control group(Group 1), better results were noted in Group 2. Marked improve-ment(16.7%), partial improvement(61.7%), no change(21.7%) and worse(O%) were noted in group 2. However, in Group 1, marked improvement(6.7%), partial improvement(53.3%), no change(38.3%) and worse(1.7%) were noted.
No significant side effect of TTPG was noted.
We speculate that the TT´PG is safe and effective to treat chronic paranasal sinusitis.
